This past week was incredible in so many ways.
I had the opportunity to share my Global Executive Development Programme (GEDP) experienceโten years onโwith this yearโs cohort.
What we learnt in class was powerfulโฆ and what we experienced outside of class, during the immersions, was even more transformative. Immersing ourselves in the world of businessโboth locally and globallyโexpanded my perspective in ways Iโm still unpacking a decade later.
Life after GEDP:
1. My curiosity and passion for leadership were fuelledโand Iโve been able to apply the learnings both in the workplace and now in my business, Internal Locus of Control.
2. The networks we built in class continue to thrive and have opened doors to meaningful opportunities and invaluable exposure.
The learnings from GEDP have truly been endlessโa journey of learning, unlearning, and relearning. For that, Iโm forever grateful.
It was also a gift to reconnect over coffee with Prof Morris Mthombeni (he/him/his), now Dean and our then programme integrator. His generosity of thought and deep insights always leave one richer.
(P.S. I may have reminded him we gave him a few grey hairs during our Netherlands and Russia immersions! ๐)
Wishing Dr Ngao Motsei and her team Marvin Maseko Ofentse Masilo Thato Motha the very best as they journey with this exceptional new cohort!
Congratulations, GEDP Class of 2025! Your adventure has just begun.
